RecreationGolf | Swimming | Tennis | Junior Activities The adult and junior activities at Sunset Country Club are a favorite for the membership with programs and activities for every age level. Junior events begin in April with an ice cream social to introduce kids of every age level to the various programs offered at Sunset. This event gives parents and kids alike the chance to meet with program directors to discover which of the activities might be suited to the child. Children may join on or all of the programs, including golf, tennis and swimming. Since Sunset stresses family life and interaction, these activities give children the opportunity to develop lasting friendships away from school or home, and by the end of summer, all of the kids know each other well and carry their friendships well into the winter months. Most of the kids join one or more of the programs, and activities are scheduled so that joining more than one is easy to coordinate. These junior programs are vary instrumental in helping kids develop a healthy camaraderie with their peers, not only at Sunset, but also with kids from other golf clubs in the area during scheduled competitive events throughout the season. At the end of the season, an awards banquet is held with trophies given to the participants. One of the greatest benefits of these programs is that parents can always feel their children are well taken care of, knowing that they are always supervised by an adult. The adult programs are also well-attended and designed to encourage participation from men, women, and families. Adults can participate in their own activities, either alone or in couples, and are also encouraged to assist in supervisory or instructional capacities for the juniors.
